Privacy at a glance
- The BIM tools process the files, schedules, model information, images and pasted project data you open on your device. They do not upload that content to Buildner.
- Website delivery, security, entry-notice acknowledgements and reports involve separate processing of personal data, including IP addresses.
- Acceptance records and error reports you deliberately submit are stored separately on the server. External links open services with their own data practices.
- Google Analytics 4 runs on this BIM website from your first page view unless you switch it off with Reject optional or the Analytics switch in Cookie settings (section 9). No advertising service is enabled; section 10 describes a possible future Meta Pixel integration only.
- Accepting the website terms or acknowledging this policy does not change your Analytics choice and does not give permission for advertising. You can change your choices at any time through the website’s Cookie settings.

Who is responsible for your information
BUILDNER, SLU is the controller of the personal data processed for the purposes described in this policy. A controller decides why and how personal data is used.

References to “Buildner”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean BUILDNER, SLU. Please use “Buildner BIM — Privacy” in the subject of a privacy enquiry, where convenient. You can also write to our registered address. This contact is our general privacy contact; it does not designate a formally appointed data protection officer.
We process information in accordance with Andorra’s Law 29/2021 on personal data protection and its implementing rules. The EU General Data Protection Regulation, the UK data protection framework and other privacy laws apply to the extent that the relevant activities fall within their scope. This policy does not reduce rights provided by applicable law.
What this policy covers
This policy covers bim.bnr.ac, its browser-based BIM checks, schedule and parameter comparisons, file previews, model-information checks and exports, entry notices, privacy preferences, technical reports and support enquiries.
The functionality covered includes Schedule compare, Room & area check, Drawing issue check, Parameter check, Door schedule check, IFC export check, Model alignment, Warning sorter, Parameter match and Issue pack, where made available on this website. A section describing an optional feature applies when you use that feature. A provider listed for a conditional integration is not necessarily active on every page or for every visitor.
Other Buildner websites, architecture competitions, courses, professional networks, shops and external services have their own notices. Following a link to one of those services does not itself create an account or authorise the transfer of your project files. This policy does not imply that their account, payment, competition-entry or identity-verification functions are part of this website.
The browser tools covered here do not require a personal account. An acknowledgement record or cookie identifier is not an account, but it can still be personal data. If we introduce accounts, server uploads, cloud storage, collaboration or remote BIM-model processing, we will explain the additional processing before you use it. This policy does not establish that those features currently exist.
The website’s Terms and Conditions govern use of the service. This policy explains data processing; acknowledging that you have read it is not blanket consent to that processing.
Personal data, project information and sources
Personal data means information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. Examples include a name, email address, IP address, online identifier, precise location or a pattern of interactions linked to a person or browser. Pseudonymous or hashed information can remain personal data.
Project information may include images, drawings, dimensions, room names, schedules, coordinates, dates, project titles and calculation outputs. It can contain personal or confidential information, such as an owner’s name or an occupied building’s location. The fact that information concerns a building does not automatically make it non-personal.
We receive information when you contact us, acknowledge the entry notice or submit a report, and automatically from requests to our systems. Project content entered into the BIM tools is processed locally and is not sent to us. Cookie preferences are stored in your browser. Unless you switch Analytics off, Google sends us aggregated Google Analytics reports about visits to this BIM website; there are no advertising reports from Meta.

We do not ask you to put health information, financial credentials, government identifiers or other sensitive personal information into calculator fields or diagnostic reports. Please avoid unnecessary personal details and ensure that you are entitled to use any information relating to other people.
Files and calculations on your device
4.1 Local BIM processing
The ten BIM tools read the supported schedules, model files, registers, issue lists, images or pasted information you select in your browser. Opening that content does not upload it to Buildner’s server. We do not receive or retain a server copy through those functions.
Checks, comparisons, previews and exports are generated locally. An export saves a result through your device’s download facilities. Your original files, downloads and device backups remain under your control. Browser-only processing does not provide a remote backup or recovery service.
The current tools keep working information in the page while you use it and do not automatically save project content in cookies, local storage or session storage. Reloading or closing the page ends that working session, subject to browser restoration. Download results before leaving; Issue pack also provides an editable pack you can save and reopen. Clearing website data does not necessarily delete original files, downloaded results or copies saved elsewhere.
4.2 What can still leave the device
Local file processing does not mean that every action on the website is offline. Our server receives connection information, and acknowledgement and error-report features send their own records. External links open other websites. The BIM tools do not embed your project inputs in shareable URLs.
A browser extension, browser assistant, operating-system service or third-party application that you choose to use may separately access page content, inputs or downloads. Its processing is governed by its own arrangements. The local-processing statement concerns the Buildner functions described here.
4.3 Uploads, support attachments and AI
If you email us a drawing or another file, we receive it as support correspondence. That is separate from opening it in a local tool. Please share only what is necessary to explain the issue.
We do not receive locally processed files for AI training and do not use them for that purpose. This statement does not cover an external assistant or AI service you independently use. A future feature involving remote file analysis, model training, cloud saving or sharing will have a specific explanation of what is transmitted, its purpose, recipients and retention before processing begins, together with any required consent.
Website delivery, hosting and security records
When your browser requests a page, image, script, download or online endpoint, our hosting infrastructure processes the request. Information can include your IP address, request time, page or resource address, request method, response status, browser and operating-system details, and referring page where your browser supplies it.
Logs and related security records help us deliver pages, diagnose faults, investigate abuse, manage traffic and protect the service. They can contain query parameters if a requested address includes them. An IP address may indicate an approximate area; it is not a reliable statement of your precise physical location.
We use contracted infrastructure providers and limit authorised access to information needed for hosting, maintenance and security. A server location does not establish where all provider support access, backups or other processing takes place. International access and transfers are addressed in section 15.
We do not operate a separate IP-to-location lookup for ordinary tool access under this policy’s baseline setup. If such a service is introduced, we will identify it and explain its purpose before use. Optional analytics and advertising have their own processing described below.
Entry-notice acknowledgements
Where an entry notice is used, we record the acknowledgements you make concerning the tool-use notice, Terms and Conditions and receipt of privacy information. The record includes a random acceptance identifier, acceptance time, IP address, browser information, notice version and the relevant acknowledgement values.
The acknowledgement cookie contains a reference to the server record, allowing us to check that an applicable notice was acknowledged. It can last up to 365 days; a changed notice may require a new acknowledgement sooner. Acknowledgement records do not include the return URL, project settings or project content.
We use proportionate acknowledgement evidence to administer access and document the service relationship. These records are separate from consent to analytics, advertising or promotional messages. Rejecting optional tracking does not prevent use of the basic tools.
Deleting the browser cookie does not delete the associated server record. You can ask us to identify and assess deletion of the record under section 18. We may need the acceptance reference or enough information to locate it reliably.
Error reports and support
7.1 Reports you choose to submit
The “Found a mistake?” or similar reporting function sends information when you select Send report. It can include an optional note of up to 200 characters, a random report/request reference, page address and title, time, IP address, browser information and limited diagnostics.
Diagnostics can include language, time zone, screen and viewport dimensions, connection status, time on page, website version and up to 40 recent technical-error entries from the preceding five minutes. The page holds a limited diagnostic buffer in memory for this feature; it is not a continuous upload of your screen or activity.
The report feature removes URL query values and fragments. It does not attach your project files, form contents, cookies, request bodies, error-message text or stacks. Diagnostics contain only technical event types and numeric error locations; the optional note is the text you choose to submit. Do not include confidential project details, passwords or unnecessary personal information in the note.
We use reports to investigate problems, improve reliability and detect abuse of the reporting service. A report is not a public post. Reports do not automatically give us a contact address; include a suitable contact method only if needed for a response.
7.2 Other correspondence
If you contact us by email or another channel, we process your address or contact identifier, message, attachments and correspondence history to respond. Our communication providers also process delivery and security information. Marketing consent is not inferred from a support enquiry.
Local exports, links and external services
8.1 Files you save or share
Exports are generated on your device. Downloading a report, comparison or editable Issue pack does not upload the project content to Buildner. You control where you save it and who receives it. If you share an exported file, the recipient may receive project or personal information contained in it.
8.2 External websites
Links to Architecture tools, competitions, courses, the AI guide and other services open separate websites. The receiving service can process ordinary connection information and has its own terms and privacy arrangements. Following a link does not give it your locally opened BIM files through this site.
8.3 Browser and device services
Your browser extensions, assistants, operating system, cloud-synchronised download folders and any other services you choose to use have their own access and storage settings. Buildner’s local-processing statement does not control those services. This BIM website does not provide the Climate card, location-search or calendar-subscription features of the separate Tools website.
Google Analytics
Active on Buildner BIM, on unless you switch it off. Google Analytics 4 (property G-JRSQ5DJN9K) starts with the first page you open on this website, including the entry notice, and before you save a cookie choice. Reject optional, or the Analytics switch in Cookie settings, stops it; your saved choice keeps it off for 180 days on this browser.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, page views, referral sources and which tools are opened. It runs on an opt-out basis. When you switch Analytics off, the website tells Google that analytics storage is denied, sets Google’s opt-out flag for this property and removes the _ga cookies; switching it back on starts measurement again.
Analytics information can include a browser identifier, page and event information, timestamps, session activity, referring source, campaign parameters, browser and device characteristics, language and approximate location. The current setup records page views; it does not send separate events for tool actions, and it never includes project files or the content you enter into a tool.
Google receives connection information, including IP information. Its current documentation distinguishes regions: for EU, Swiss and UK traffic, it describes using IP addresses to derive coarse location and then discarding them without logging or storing the individual IP address; outside those regions, it describes IP collection and use for basic service operation. We therefore do not make a worldwide promise that Analytics never processes or retains IP information. See Google’s regional privacy information and its explanation for other regions.
The measurement setup excludes project files, image previews, user-entered text, names, email addresses, precise coordinates, confidential project labels and sensitive query parameters. Page addresses on this website contain none of these, and tool inputs never leave your browser.
Google Signals, advertising personalisation through Google, account-linked User-ID measurement, cross-service identity linking and raw analytics exports are switched off in this setup. If introduced, their additional purposes and recipients will be disclosed and the relevant consent obtained. The Analytics cookies are set for bim.bnr.ac only and are not used to join your activity across other Buildner services.
Google keeps event-level Analytics data for the retention period set in our property, at most 14 months, and then deletes it; aggregated reports are not subject to that limit. This is different from cookie expiry. Google’s processing roles depend on the service and contractual terms: it processes measurement information for us and may have separate responsibilities for its own permitted processing. See Google’s Privacy Policy and information about partner sites.
You can switch Analytics off at any time in Cookie settings. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on, subject to browser support. That add-on does not control necessary website processing.
Meta Pixel / Facebook Pixel
Not enabled on Buildner BIM. The following describes a possible future integration. It does not describe active tracking. We will update the service information and request the relevant consent before enabling it. Current cookie choices do not pre-authorise a future service.
Where enabled, we use Meta Pixel, also known as Facebook Pixel, for advertising measurement and audience functions involving Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram. Under this policy’s consent model, it starts only after you allow the Advertising category.
It can help us understand whether a campaign led to a website visit or selected action, assess campaign performance and show relevant advertisements to previous website visitors on Meta services. This can involve profiling of interests inferred from website interactions.
Meta can receive IP address, browser and device information, page/referral information, timestamps, pixel and cookie identifiers, an advertising click identifier where present, and approved event information. It may associate this information with data it already holds, including a Facebook or Instagram account, under its own privacy arrangements. Processing can occur even if you have no Buildner account or are not logged in to Facebook in that browser. We generally receive reports and audience tools rather than a named list of everyone who visited.
We exclude file contents, drawings, previews, calculation inputs and outputs, precise coordinates, project names, support messages and other user-entered information from Pixel events. Automatic event collection and page-address collection must be restricted to maintain those exclusions. The integration remains disabled on pages where this protection cannot be achieved.
Advanced matching, email or telephone matching, customer-list uploads and Meta Conversions API/server-side conversion reporting are not part of the baseline setup. Hashed contact details would still require a separate explanation and appropriate legal basis. Mentioning Meta Pixel does not authorise those additional functions.
Where Meta’s applicable terms establish joint controllership, Buildner and the relevant Meta entity jointly determine the collection and transmission of covered event data. For relevant European processing this may involve Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Buildner is responsible for its integration, notice and lawful basis; Meta has responsibilities for its platform processing and the obligations allocated by the applicable arrangement. Meta’s subsequent processing for its own purposes is not all carried out on Buildner’s instructions.
You can address a rights request to us even where a joint-controller arrangement applies. Further information, including the relevant Meta entity and contact details, is available in the Meta Privacy Policy, Meta Business Tools Terms and Controller Addendum.
Withdraw Advertising consent through Cookie settings to stop future consent-based Pixel collection from this site. You can also use Meta’s own advertising and off-Meta activity controls where available. Website withdrawal does not itself delete information already lawfully received by Meta or change your settings on other websites. We can assist with requests concerning our own processing and direct you to relevant provider controls.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small records stored in your browser. Cookie lifetime is different from the retention of information already sent to a server.

Both cookies are limited to the BIM website’s host and are not set on the parent bnr.ac domain. BIM does not read, change or rely on the separate Tools website’s bn_tools_consent or bn_tools_privacy cookies. A choice on one website does not count as a choice on the other.
The current BIM tools do not automatically save project files or pasted data in local storage, session storage or cookies. They keep working information in the current page. Download anything you want to keep.
11.2 Optional technologies
Google Analytics 4 is installed and runs unless you switch it off. It sets two first-party cookies for this website’s host only: _ga, which distinguishes one browser from another, and _ga_JRSQ5DJN9K, which keeps the session state for our property; both last 13 months and are removed when you switch Analytics off. No Meta Pixel, advertising, session replay, heatmap or fingerprinting service is installed; the Advertising category in Cookie settings is marked “Not in use”. We will identify the provider, purpose, storage names and lifetimes and request any required consent before adding another service.
Your cookie and marketing choices
The cookie panel offers Accept all, Reject optional and Choose settings, using the same design as Buildner Tools. On BIM, Accept all keeps Google Analytics on, Reject optional switches it off, and Save preferences follows the Analytics switch; advertising is off in every case because no advertising service is installed. Saving a choice does not accept the website terms.
You can reopen Cookie settings from the website footer at any time. Your choice is saved for 180 days in this browser on this BIM website only. Closing the panel, scrolling or acknowledging the tool-use notice does not save a cookie choice; until a choice is saved, Analytics stays on.
Necessary cookies cannot be switched off in this panel, but your browser can inspect, block or delete them. Removing the acknowledgement cookie brings back the entry notice; blocking it prevents the website from remembering your acceptance. A saved BIM cookie choice and acknowledgement of the current tool-use notice and policies are required before using the homepage or tools, including through direct links. The entry notice and legal documents remain readable so you can review them before accepting. If the preference cookie cannot be saved, the panel explains this; you can close it to read the policies, but must allow necessary cookies and save your choice before entering. Analytics stays on until you save a choice that switches it off.
A new optional service or purpose will be explained before use and will require a fresh choice where consent is needed. Switching Analytics off leaves every tool available. Analytics measurement does start before you save a choice; it stops as soon as you switch it off.
Switching Analytics off stops further collection through Google Analytics. It does not retroactively invalidate earlier processing or automatically delete data already received by Google. You can separately exercise the rights below.
If we offer an email newsletter or other promotional subscription, we will explain it at sign-up and obtain any required separate consent. Each promotional email will provide an unsubscribe option. Support correspondence does not opt you into marketing.
Legally required opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control where applicable, are treated as requests to stop the processing they cover. No sale, sharing for advertising or targeted advertising integration is currently active on this BIM website.
Why we process data and our legal bases
The legal bases below apply where the relevant data protection framework requires them. A contractual basis is used only where processing is objectively necessary for the service you request. Optional advertising, if ever introduced, would rely on consent.

When relying on legitimate interests, we assess necessity, proportionality and the effect on your rights. You may object as explained below. Information required for a requested function will be identified in context; without it, that function may not work. You do not have to supply optional information, and switching Analytics off does not limit the tools.
Who receives information
Access is limited to recipients relevant to the stated purpose:
- Authorised Buildner personnel and support providers, to operate the website, answer enquiries and handle privacy or security matters.
- Hosting, infrastructure, maintenance and communication providers, to supply contracted technical services. Our locally processed BIM functions do not transmit selected project content to them.
- Google (Google Ireland Limited for the EEA) receives Analytics measurement information as described in section 9 unless you switch Analytics off. Meta is not an active recipient; section 10 applies only if a Pixel integration is introduced with the relevant choice.
- Professional advisers, insurers, courts, regulators and public authorities, where disclosure is necessary, proportionate and legally required or otherwise lawfully justified.
- Parties to a restructuring, merger or business transfer, where necessary for that transaction and subject to confidentiality and other appropriate protections. Material changes in processing remain subject to applicable notice and legal requirements.
Providers acting on our instructions are subject to appropriate processing terms. Some providers act as independent controllers for their own processing; joint controllership may apply to specified activities, as described for Meta. A recipient’s separate responsibilities are not removed by our use of its service.
We do not make browser-only project files available to advertisers. Advertising disclosures of online identifiers and activity can nevertheless qualify as “sharing”, “sale” or targeted advertising under particular laws even without a cash payment. The applicable choices and rights remain available.
International processing and safeguards
Buildner is established in Andorra. Information may also be processed in the EEA, the United Kingdom, the United States or other countries where the identified providers operate infrastructure or support. A locally hosted website does not keep all third-party processing in that same country.
Where an international transfer requires safeguards, we use a mechanism appropriate to the recipient and applicable law. This may be an applicable adequacy decision or contractual safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and supplementary measures where needed. Reliance on a certification framework requires that the recipient, processing and current certification actually fall within it; naming a provider is not proof of that coverage.
The European Commission recognises Andorra under its adequacy framework for the relevant EU transfers. This does not automatically cover onward transfers by every provider. See the Commission’s adequacy information.
We do not treat acceptance of this policy as general consent to international transfers. You may ask our privacy contact about the recipients, countries and safeguards relevant to your information, and request a copy or explanation of safeguards, with necessary confidential material redacted.
How long we keep information
We retain personal data only for its stated purpose and applicable legal requirements. The application’s record limits are below. Infrastructure logs, support correspondence and backups have separate retention criteria; they are not project storage provided by the BIM tools.

An identified law, security incident or legal claim can require a different period for particular records. We document the reason, restrict further use to that purpose, review continued need and delete or irreversibly anonymise the information when the reason ends. A general possibility of future usefulness does not justify indefinite retention.
Where law requires blocking instead of immediate erasure, we isolate the relevant records from ordinary use until the retention requirement ends. If a backup is restored, applicable deletion restrictions must be reapplied. Irreversibly anonymous statistics may be retained longer; replacing a name with a hash is not, by itself, anonymisation.
Independent providers and recipients of your exported files may keep their own copies under their own legal responsibilities. We cannot promise that deleting a local cookie or a Buildner record erases all such copies.
Security and confidentiality
We use technical and organisational measures proportionate to the data and risks. These include secure transmission, controlled access, protected storage of server records, appropriate provider arrangements and maintenance of the website. Access should be limited to people who need the information for their role.
If a personal-data breach occurs, we investigate, take appropriate remedial steps and notify the competent authority and affected people where required. No website, communication channel or storage system is immune from every risk.
Your own devices, downloads, shared links, email accounts have separate security settings. Please avoid placing confidential information in public links and protect exported results appropriately.
Your privacy rights and how to use them
Depending on the law that applies and its conditions, you may:
- Access your personal data and obtain information about its processing.
- Correct inaccurate information and complete incomplete information.
- Request erasure where there is no applicable reason to retain it.
- Restrict processing, for example while accuracy or an objection is assessed.
- Receive portable data you provided in an appropriate machine-readable format where the right applies to automated processing based on consent or contract.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. We must then assess the applicable grounds for continuing.
- Object to direct marketing and related profiling at any time, without needing to justify the objection.
- Withdraw consent as easily as it was given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Contact contact@buildner.com. Explain the website, the right you want to exercise and enough context to locate the records. You do not need an account. For a cookie-only or report-only record, the relevant reference and approximate date may help; we will not collect additional identifying information merely to build an identity profile.
We may seek proportionate information to verify identity or an agent’s authority where necessary. We do not routinely request identity-document copies when a less intrusive method will suffice. Please do not send passwords or full identification documents with an initial request.
For requests governed by the GDPR or a comparable one-month rule, we normally respond within one month. Where the law allows an extension for complexity or volume, we explain it within the initial period. Different regional deadlines are followed where applicable. Requests are normally free; any lawful fee, refusal or restriction will be explained together with available remedies.
Rights are not absolute. A legal obligation or valid claim may require retention of particular information, and portability has defined conditions. We cannot retrieve or delete files that exist only on your device, and we may be unable to associate a record with you without sufficient identifying context. These limits do not prevent you from making a request.
Regional rights and advertising opt-outs
Where applicable US state or other regional privacy law gives you additional rights, these may include access, correction, deletion, portability, information about disclosure categories, and an opt-out of targeted advertising or legally defined sale/sharing. We apply the law’s eligibility requirements and exceptions; this section does not claim that every statute applies to every visitor.
The categories of information, sources, purposes, recipients and retention are described in sections 3 and 13–16. Online identifiers, device information and activity disclosed through Meta Pixel can fall within cross-context advertising sharing. Such disclosures are subject to the choices in section 12. We do not use precise device location for advertising under this setup.
Advertising is not enabled on the current BIM website. You can inspect the categories in Cookie settings and send a request headed “Do not sell or share my personal information” to our privacy email. We honour legally recognised browser opt-out signals for the processing they cover. You may use an authorised agent where applicable law permits, and may appeal a decision by replying to our response and asking for a privacy appeal where that right applies. We will explain the applicable process and supervisory remedy.
We do not deny basic tool access or unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. An optional feature may still need information essential to that feature. Further information about California rights is available from the California Attorney General.
Profiling and automated decisions
Google Analytics can recognise a browser across visits and group visitors by pages, referral sources and technical characteristics; we use it for aggregated reports, not for decisions about individuals. No advertising integration is active. If Meta Pixel were introduced as described above, Meta could link consented events to information on its own services; that advertising-related profiling would be subject to the disclosures and controls above.
The tools described here do not make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Producing a geometric calculation or schedule is not an assessment of an individual’s employment, creditworthiness or eligibility. A future feature involving such decisions would require additional information and applicable safeguards before use.
Children and younger users
The service covered by this policy is intended for adults and is not designed for independent use by children. We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for targeted advertising. A reference to architecture students does not remove any minimum-age or guardian requirements in the applicable Terms or law.
If you believe a child has provided personal data without the necessary authorisation, contact us with enough information to identify the issue. We will assess the situation and take appropriate action, including deletion where required. We do not need a child’s unnecessary identity documents to receive an initial concern.
Complaints and supervisory authorities
You may contact us with any concern. You may also complain directly to the Agència Andorrana de Protecció de Dades (APDA) through www.apda.ad or apda@apda.ad. You do not have to complain to Buildner first.
Where the GDPR applies, you may also complain to a competent EEA supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. Where UK law applies, the Information Commissioner’s Office provides information at ico.org.uk. Other local supervisory rights remain available.
Nothing in this policy or the website Terms waives a statutory privacy remedy or the right to seek appropriate judicial relief.
Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy when functionality, providers, purposes or legal requirements change. The published version will show its effective or updated date. Material changes will receive appropriate notice, and any processing that requires new consent will wait for that consent. A revised policy does not automatically authorise a new advertising provider or a new use of your files.
